WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Not-for-profit or for-profit youth sports leagues in all 50 states. Most sports are eligible (eligible sports). Organizations with participants over 19 years old are not eligible for this program (for information on adult league policies call us at 1-800-999-6951). GENERAL LIABILITY: WHO IS COVERED: The following are Insureds, but only with respect to liability arising out of the Insured Organization's sanctioned events and/or organized and supervised practices:
WHAT IS COVERED: General Liability Insurance will pay up to the policy limit all sums that the Insured becomes legally obligated to pay due to Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims to which the insurance policy applies. Example: While at practice, a player is tackled on a large piece of glass, severely cutting his leg. His parents sue the coach, the Insured Organization, and its directors and officers for the Bodily Injury to their son. The General Liability policy would not only pay this claim up to the policy limits, but more importantly, it would pay all the legal fees and defense costs (even if the lawsuit is groundless). BASIC LIMITS AND COVERAGES:
NOTABLE EXCLUSIONS:

ACCIDENT MEDICAL EXPENSE COVERAGE:
WHO IS COVERED: The following are covered while participating in the Insured Organization's sanctioned events, including group travel (most policies exclude this) and/or organized and supervised practices:
WHAT IS COVERED: The policy will pay the reasonable expenses incurred by an Insured Person, in excess of the Deductible Amount (usually $100), for the following:
Medical or Surgical Treatment, services or supplies (this includes coverage for sound and natural teeth);
hospital, nursing and ambulance services.
The items above must be prescribed by a legally qualified physician for the sole purpose of treating the injury. The policy pays for expenses that are incurred up to two years after the accident. BASIC LIMITS AND COVERAGES: The basic policy limit is $25,000 per accident with a $100 deductible. Higher limits (up to $1,000,000) and deductibles are available. The policy pays for those Reasonable Expenses that are in excess of any other valid and collectible insurance. If the participant does not have any other health insurance, this policy becomes primary. Example: A player is injured while participating in an event sanctioned by the insured organization (the league, club, or team named on the policy) and incurs $20,000 of medical expenses.
Player has health insurance: Assuming his health insurance has a $500 deductible and an 80/20 coinsurance requirement, his health insurance company would pay $15,600. Our policy would then pay the remaining balance of $4,400 minus the $100 deductible, for a total payment of $4,300.
Player without health insurance: Our policy would pay the entire medical expense of $20,000, minus the $100 deductible, for a total payment of $19,900.
DIRECTORS' & OFFICERS' LIABILITY (Optional):
WHO IS COVERED:
* They must be part of a committee that has been duly constituted by the board of directors. WHAT IS COVERED: The policy covers "Wrongful Acts" attempted or allegedly attempted or committed by one or more of the Insureds (see "Who Is Covered" above) while performing their duties for the Insured Organization. "Wrongful Acts" includes errors or omissions, neglect, and breach of duty. The following are examples of potential covered claims:
BASIC LIMITS AND COVERAGES: The basic policy limit is $1,000,000 per claim with a $1,000 deductible. Higher deductibles are available. Defense costs are included within the policy limit. This is a Claims-Made policy which means the claim must both occur and be filed during the policy period. Important Note: Many leagues have Directors & Officers (D&O) policies for the league itself and the league's directors and officers. However, these policies do not cover the directors & officers of the individual teams within the league. Many people think that if they are on both the board of their local team and on the board of the league, that the league's D&O policy fully covers them. A D&O policy for the league only covers claims against people for their actions in connection with their duties for the league. If the individual is sued for a wrongful act in connection with their duties for their team's board, then the league's D&O policy would not cover that claim. We highly recommend that each team purchase their own D&O policy.
CRIME - EMPLOYEE DISHONESTY (Optional):
WHAT IS COVERED: This policy covers the league for theft of money, securities, contents, and equipment by one or more of the Insured Organization's employees, officers, or volunteers. This includes losses caused by Forgery & Alterations by one or more of the Insured Organization's employees, officers, or volunteers. Coverage is also provided for theft of Money or Securities by outsiders. BASIC LIMITS AND COVERAGES: Employee Dishonesty, including Forgery & Alterations, coverage is available with a limit of $25,000 with a $500 deductible. The Money & Securities coverage also has a $25,000 limit with a $500 deductible.
PROPERTY (Optional):
WHAT IS COVERED: This policy covers the Insured Organization's sports equipment, concession stock, field maintenance equipment, or small storage sheds. This is a "Named Perils" policy, which means that it provides coverage for those perils specifically named in the policy, such as fire, lightning, theft, and vandalism. Coverage is provided for items On-premises, In-transit, or Off-premises. Important Note: The policy requires you to insure all of your property to 100% of its replacement cost. For example, if it would cost $60,000 to replace all of your equipment, then you must select a limit of no less than $60,000. BASIC LIMITS AND COVERAGES: Property coverage is available with limits between $12,500 and $500,000 with a $500 deductible. Claims are paid based on the current Replacement Cost Value of the damaged or stolen items.
LIMITED HOSTED TOURNAMENT (Optional):
WHAT IS COVERED: Hosted Tournaments are those that you organize and operate that include participants that are not members of your league/club/team. This optional policy provides coverage for these non-members whom would otherwise not be covered under the basic General Liability and Accident Medical policies. You and your rostered members are automatically covered for participation in tournaments conducted by others without purchasing this option.
